The hotel receptionist cheated me by taking additional local tax of 24 EURO although it was included in the accomodation fees. Please refund that money.

Property is well located for sightseeing and on a busy street with a supermarket and plenty of food options. Staff were friendly enough and bag store was there for keeping luggage safe after checkout etc.
It is run down though and if you dont like steep stairs then it's not one to visit (though this can be said of most Amsterdam hotels). Little things like dirty doors around door handles, and no air con let it down. It was SUPER hot in our room overnight even with the fan provided. It was about 24c outside that day so hot but not blisteringly boiling like the room was all night.
Overall it worked for one night but wouldn't be in a rush to return.

An ideal location for 1 nights stay close to the train station for 3 individuals who were travelling onwards on to Europe.

Posted 8 May 2024 on HotelsThe room was small which was to be expected. We didn’t have high expectations for this place, so I wouldn’t say it was unsuccessful in meeting those expectations. That being said, because our first night was a Sunday, the stay was much more expensive than necessary, especially for what we got. The floor was filthy…seemed to not be cleaned in a long time. We just kept socks nearby to take on and off. The area, well, it’s Amsterdam. I wouldn’t suggest taking your kids into the souvenir shops. Overall, for a hostile, this was probably one of the worse ones of stayed in.
