Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
On arrival, we were directed to the check in terminal and told to scan QR code, despite us advising the two members of staff at reception that we hadn’t received this code. He still tried to get us to check in via the terminal before he finally agreed to check us in at the reception desk.
Having read some reviews about the hotel whilst travelling, we discovered that the bathroom door was glass, which was a concern to us due to privacy issues etc. We queried this with the receptionist and was advised it was not possible to see in the bathroom. This was not the case and the toilet was right next to the door and was in clear view of the bed, which faced directly onto the bathroom. This was very unpleasant and caused a disturbance during the night as the whole room was lit up when using the toilet.
The room itself was very dusty and there were hairs in the shower on arrival.
The experience was very disappointing and we expected better from a 4 star hotel, having used a budget hotel in Amsterdam previously.
