We had arrived late in total darkness so headed straight to sleep, we expected the bed to be a double however was in fact 2 singles placed together - including separate duvets sets. As a couple we tried to make this work however the mattresses kept coming apart and you would sink in between the 2 beds, furthermore the mattresses themselves were rather thin.
Additionally, the room doors despite having a turn lock do not function and you have no additional security other than the key card. This made us feel uncomfortable as anyone else with a working key card would be able to enter.
In the morning we woke up to notice a food stain on the pillow and duvet. Rather than immediately go to the front desk to resolve this we expected room service to sort as we left for the day. However, upon returning and the room service sign removed from our door, our bed still wasn’t made and we were only provided with fresh towels, our body wash wasn’t restocked either. This was a clear indication to us that the rooms and bedding are not properly, if not at all, cleaned. As such, we had to leave a written note for the staff to actually make the bed.
Finally, the room quality whilst modern wasn’t great. The air conditioning is either very poor or simply doesn’t function; the tv was broken; and the hotel lacks soundproofing.
Overall, I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again, however it is situated in a quiet area next to a frequent bus service taking 30 minutes into Amsterdam which was very handy.
