Great stay, ... But
The staff were so helpful and friendly, the room spotlessly clean, bathroom was functional but could do with updating. Had a wonderful meal in the restaurant, absolutely no complaints. Our only gripe was that after an 18 hour drive from northern England, we arrived at 5.30 to find everything locked up. Yes check in is at 6pm, but as it's a hotel and restaurant I never imagined we'd have to wait outside in the baking sun for 1/2 hour. Another couple staying at the hotel stopped to say the same thing happened to them. As long as you know not to arrive before 6pm you will be ok. Would we stay again probably not, just because of their opening hours which are strictly 6pm to 9pm. The hotel is really missing a trick, they have a lovely terrace, but you can only enjoy a drink on it for a limited period.

Chambre confortable avec patio ou on a pu Profiter de l’air frais du matin. Seul inconvenient etait la senteur d’humidité en entrant dans l’hotel au niveau rez de chaussee. Tres bon petit dejeuner avec produits locaux ou fait maison.

Well placed for easy access to the motorway. This hotel is on the way into Amboise, not in the town itself. We just stayed one night, arriving late and leaving after breakfast, with a dog. The hotel was clean, the 2 staff we met were friendly and the buffet-style breakfast good. Good value for money.

Excellent restaurant. Kind and helpful owners and staff. Unfortunately the drain in my bathtub/shower was very clogged and apparently could not be fixed while I was there. But, overall, I recommend this hotel as an excellent value.

An unhelpful and unfriendly place.
This was very disappointing. Having arrived at about 5.00 on a Sunday evening we showered and rested after a long days drive and went down to reception to see the evening menu. Reception and restaurant were both closed (with a notice saying they reserved the right to close if there weren't enough guests) two envelopes for other guests were stuck to the door with sellotape (which we thought was unaccepably unprofessional) and when we asked the receptionist who was enjoying a BBQ with her family if she could recommend a restaurant in Amboise and book a taxi for us she was unable to do so. I'm surprised that this hotel has good reviews on some sites as ours was a very poor experience and we would NOT recommend this place.

Rooms with a view.
An easy to find hotel that has a wonderful view of Mont st Michel. It is only a 30 minute walk to the transport to the monument. The hotel is friendly and has a good restaurant. English is spoken by all staff.

We'd Stay Again
The manager and restaurant staff were amazing. We were travelling off season in January. The hotel was full on the weekend and locals filled the restaurant on Friday night while hotel guests filled it on Saturday. Set menu for breakfast (cold) which still had lots of wonderful pastries.
