Alison was a great host. The guest house is perfectly located as you can easily walk into the centre of Ambleside or walk to the pier to go on a Windermere Lake Cruise. I had a very comfortable stay and the cooked breakfast was delicious.

Lovely b&b, very welcoming host.
Posted 16 Aug 2024 on HotelsGreat b&b perfect for a two night stay in Ambleside. It's on the main road so there's quite a lot of traffic noise but this didn't interfere with our stay. Close to the center of town and the edge of Windermere lake. You can access a beautiful walk to Troutbeck village with stunning views across the lake from the backroad of the building. There's a huge garden center across the road from the building, I was surprised by the size of it, you can access the ferry to Bowness 10 minutes walk away.

Very friendly host and amazing breakfast
Posted 6 Aug 2024 on HotelsLovely Victorian guesthouse midway between Ambleside Pier and town centre. Parking permit provided for nearest car park 100m plus can be used in other car parks in the Lakes. Excellent cooked breakfast and other selections available. Very friendly host, nothing was too much trouble. Lots of tourist leaflets available on each floor of 3 storey house. Bed very comfy. Would definitely recommend.

This B&B enhanced my walking holiday a lot!
Posted 31 Jul 2024 on HotelsThe owner and the staff she employed were very helpful, approachable and polite.
I stayed for 10 nights for a solo walking holiday and the owner was very willing to suggest local walks that involved great views and sights, including fantastic views of Windermere or the waterfall-in-the-old-growth-wood nearby.
Each morning I was given a decent breakfast, a hot drink with oat milk, and the option to have cereal, orange juice or fruit salad.
My room was very functional with a small kettle, a sink and a TV. My private shower just down the hall was high pressure, warmed quickly and was cleaned daily.
I'd definitely recommend Lyndale Guest House and would definitely visit again if I wanted to stay in the same area.
Thanks again to the owner and the team.

The parking permit provided lets you park in other specified areas across the Lake District, and the car park for the B&B is just a minute's walk away.

Good
Posted 13 Jul 2024 on HotelsAll good apart from the very soft bed which was a bit lumpy. Also a bit of noise from the road outside. But very clean as no good breakfast.

Sorry to hear you found the bed too soft it's quite a new bed and classed as medium. Not quite sure what you mean by no good breakfast! I would love to welcome you back to Lyndale Guest House and next time if you mention the road noise on booking I'll make sure your in a room at the back of the house away from the main road.I hope to welcome you back to Lyndale Guest House in the not too distant future.

2 Nights in a excellent bed and breakfast. 10/10 .
Posted 24 Jun 2024 on HotelsIf i could give 11/10 I would .
We went for 2 nights and would definitely go again..The host Alison was very friendly and helpful. Free parking was via a parking permit in a local council carpark , which could be used in other car parks.
The room was spotless and a quite big with your own bathroom .The bed was so comfortable I slept really well and was made each day while we were out exploring
Breakfast was very tasty with a good choice catering for many tastes. My husband had a full English each morning while i had egg on toast. Alison also catered for vegetarians and those with different dietary needs.
While Lyndale bed and breakfast is on the main road we didnt find traffic a problem.
The bed and breakfast is 5 minutes walk from Ambleside village which is delightful and a popular place for walkers .In Ambleside there is lots of choice for finding something to eat on an evening, from fish and chips to pub grub and more .
There are all the shops you would expected from quaint gift gift shops to mini supermarkets and plenty of walking /climbing attire shops. Or get a ice cream or coffee and just watch the world go by .
Waterhead pier on lake windermere is a 2 minutes drive or a 10 minutes walk , with spectacular views of the lake and surrounding hills, and is well worth the walk.
The b&b is on a bus route and its worth leaving the car and taking a bus to Kendal or Keswick, you get to see the surrounding countryside without having to worry about finding parking / fee
