The staff were friendly and very helpful. We stayed for 4 nights and the room was never cleaned in that time. I question the parking policy whereby guests booking directly with the hotel they receive free parking, whereas booking via an agency I am required to pay £12/day extra for parking. Please see this from a guests perspective rather than your own profitability. All guests should be treated equally regardless of which channel they used to find and book the accomodation.

We ask that via your 'welcome letter' that is in all rooms, should you require a daily service, that you pop the "please service my room" sign provided in each room on the outside of the door as and when you require, this is general practice. It is also advisable not to leave sharp objects (fillet knife) in the tied up bin liner on departure.Regarding the parking policy, we understand your concerns and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Our goal is to offer competitive rates and benefits to all our guests, and we value your perspective on this matter. We are continually reviewing our policies, and your feedback will be an important part of that process as we strive to improve the experience for all our guests. We're pleased that you received the best room rates and found free parking within the village.We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide a stay that exceeds your expectations.Best regards

A great place to stay in Ambleside

Brathay Lodge makes for a very comfortable and convenient stay in the Lake District. The room was modern and well-maintained and the staff friendly and considerate. There is a parking fee (unless booked direct) but you’d have to pay elsewhere anyway. If you have an electric car it’s a good idea to let them know in advance so you can use their reasonably-priced ProjectEV charger. The continental breakfast was fresh and varied and set us up for the day. Would definitely stay there again.
