Under renovation - cheap room, cheap experience
Posted 11 Feb 2024 on HotelsHotel is under renovation - they did tell us right from the start. I guess the price was lower than expected for that reason. That said, a lot of the smaller things were far from 5 star level. The bedding, towels, toiletries were all just... okay? Nothing bad, but not premium. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Included breakfast was good but barely changed over 5 days so some variety would be nice.

Totally let down by this reservation. Upon entering the property I was told there was ongoing construction on the property and basically all amenities were off limits. I should have left right then. I decided to proceed with the stay figuring that it being a weekend construction would be non-existent or at least less. To my amazement, construction was going full force from 7am until 8pm on Saturday and the time I was there on Sunday! The hotel should show a little respect for their guests especially on a weekend. I could not even call down to the reception because my phone in room did not work. Adding to my displeasure was the hour long sound of something throwing up in another room, which the sound echoed through the vents from some other floor. Not an exciting sound to hear in the morning before breakfast. My last complaint, and probably most discusting, was that the first night I encountered 3 mosquitos at night. Two I was able to kill when I woke up throughout the night. The third actually went up my nose and bite and caused me to have a bloody nose, which got all over the blankets. Terrible and worrisome experience. I hope that I have not contracted anything from these mosquitos! The only credit I will give is to the staff and breakfast experience which I thought was excellent but was overshadowed by the constant construction noise and bugs!

It was noisy due to construction but the service and the quality of rooms more than made up for it . The breakfast was amazing
