This was our first visit to the hotel. A truly unique experience in many ways. The property is situated in a lovely off-track farm but extremely commutable from most tourists spots and towns. We stayed for 5 days and covered all of them. The breakfast was made to order. We had a few lunches and dinners in the hotel every day, and once again it was made to order. The hotel is family owned and Mr. Luigi took a personal interest in our activities and tours and guided us to places for local cheese, oils, and bakers. Additionally, the bar is stocked with a variety of local wines at modest prices and all confectioneries were made on the premises. We were also invited to a tour of the kitchen. The hotel is also an ideal spot for weddings and caters to large gatherings. We recommend this hotel to anyone who is willing to try out a unique experience away from the madding crowd. We would definitely go back again.

Great customer care

Pros: Customer care
Location: There are some nice restaurants, cafes, bars down in the city. There is no taxi after 10pm so yu should arrange a car with the hotel before you go.
The hotel is little bit out of town but otherwise everything else is just perfect. They have an excellent culture of customer care from hotel's manager down to the porters. The hotel seems to be the venue for special events like weddings, special parties etc. for the locals. For other guests it is just a great place to stay near Altamura.

Magic in the country
Posted 29 Sep 2015 on HotelsFantastic from start to finish Top accommodation Top staff top food Ideally located to visit all that Northern Puglia has to offer Matera only 30 minutes down the road, Trani less than an hour away and Bari a 40km drive away. All the staff could not be more helpful and friendly and definitely added to the stay. Be it a 2 night stay or a week like we did you will not be disappointed.

A gem!
Posted 21 Sep 2015
Pros: The style, old building with fantastic contemporary interiors. Great staff.
Cons: A couple of things have form over function, like the taps in the washbasin. These could be easily changed.
Location: Matera is the main local attraction.
We were visiting Matera and wanted to stay a bit outside the town. Found I Luoghi on the web and thought it well worth the extra miles. We could not have been happier with our stay. Albeit coinciding with a big wedding party we were given excellent service - and a particularly excellent dinner. Very unusual interiors - and all part of the experience.

Quiet, romantic location near Altamura
Posted 9 Sep 2015My wife and I have been to Italy many times and we were looking for a romantic Hotel near Matera to visit the Sasso. The hotel is situated in the countryside near Altamura. This hotel was wonderfully decorated and actually is a work of art. The owners and personnel were extremely attentive and took pride in their work and surroundings. Their food presentations were excellent and they would serve whatever you wished to be prepared. The views from the hotel were impressive. Breakfast was an experience that should not be missed(food ,presentation, views). I highly recommend if looking for an intimate, romantic locale.

Stunning
Posted 17 Aug 2015
Pros: Large comfortable room, food, wine, very friendly but professional staff - everything.
Cons: Wished we had stayed there longer.
Location: Matera and the Trully houses are not far which is worth visiting
From stepping into the hotel to leaving we were looked after superbly, nothing is too much trouble for them.
The food is of the finest standard as is the wine which accompanies the food. Orazio ensured we were wonderfully fed and watered and took time to show us around this stunning location.
It is a large family run hotel which has been renovated to the highest standard with very modern facilities and works of art scattered around the rooms and open spaces.

Lovely hotel
Posted 24 Apr 2015 on HotelsThis is a lovely hotel. It is beautifully decorated and maintained in and out. Everything is of a very high standard. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The hotel is situated in the countryside in a National Park and there are lovely views from the bedrooms and public rooms. Wifi is excellent. The breakfast is very nice and is served rather than buffet. The hotel is set up for functions like weddings etc. but the hotel bedrooms are quite far from the public rooms. Showers are excellent. I would recommend this hotel. Within driving distance of Sassia in Metara. Ruvo is a nice little town nearby.
