"Overall a good experience for family. "

"Access to the mall is the only plus. Furnishings in the rooms are outdated and dirty. I never sat in a sofa before that has no back cushions to support you. No convenient electrical outlets to plug electronics or bedside medical devices like CPAP. Breakfast is same old average tasting buffet. No parking. You may get locked out if you are a late night player. Turns absolutely dark at night even the walkways and stairwells to the rooms, so keep a flashlight on hand. I give 2-3 stars, only for the staff friendliness and courtesy.?"

"Staff were amazing however I guess this is a budget hotel, I had to try 3 rooms in the end I was fed up and accepted the room. "

"It is nice hotel in good location. The only problem with this hotel is that you need to go down to get taxi. There are lot of steps to climb if you have to go early in the morning as the lift will be operational after 8:00 AM. The service is good, and the staff are friendly"

"This is a beautiful property set amongst the natural landscape. The attentiveness of service was truly exemplary. The airconditioning in one of our rooms didn’t work but otherwise a great stay. "

"The Orchid Shimla is a premier hotel with superior service, dynamic dining, and excellent creature comforts. The staff at Orchid Shimla is very well trained to anticipate and meet your needs. The front desk concierge Nikita is professional and efficient, she assisted us in arranging taxis to tourist attractions and to Mandi. The dining experience was delightful and delicious. Views from the dining room overlook Shimla valley which adds to the wonder. The pastry chef took time to answer our questions about unique Indian flavors, even showing us type of vegetable that, as Americans, we were not familiar with. Especially helpful in the dining room was a server named Aarte. She provided expert service, answered questions about foods, and made quality suggestions about menu selections. She also indulged me in trying to learn a little Hindu. Thank you, Aarte! The rooms were lovely. They were spotlessly clean. The linens were crisp and the beds were comfy. I highly recommend the Orchid in Shimla. "
