Bedrooms very nice,however TVs need updating.you cannot park your car at the joiners arms it is a 3-400 yard walk to a car park.we arrived at 10 past 2 to check in and blankly told check in is at 3pm,even without asking our name to check if room was available.when we did check in simply directed to our room and told key in the door,which it was not.
We had an evening meal in the bar area and it was simply that.nothing extraordinary,however must say the staff were excellent,very helpful,polite and hardworking but understaffed,they were ran off their feet.very well done to them.
We checked out a day early on a two night booking….

Not a 5 star gastro-pub, just a pub.
Posted 22 Aug 2024 on HotelsThe 5 stars clearly awarded by themselves, gastro pub - I think not. Its just a pub with pub food and any pretence of class evaporates at breakfast time when families from the rest of the Newton Hall estate descend on the place to fill their lunch packs from the buffet counter...
Lots of friendly staff and nice touches here and there but none of it joins up to provide a great experience.

Very nice breakfast
I've eaten in the evenings here before (which was lovely)but this time we did a late lunch and opted for a walk to the ship along the road for a quiet drink instead.

We had a fantastic time. Loved everything room spot on. Housekeeping great. Fabulous food breakfast first class. Staff were great so helpful. Definitely be back.
