Although the hotel claimed to be smoke free, we were greeted when we arrived with smokers outside the main entrance. I guess that is where the smoking area is. In fact they had a cigarette vending machine right inside the front door. Not very inviting for non smokers.
The worst part was our room smelled of tobacco smoke and it got worse as the night rent on. So much so that I had to leave the room at 4AM and go for a walk and stayed in the lobby for the rest of the night.
I think the smell was coming from their ventilation system as it got worse if so turned the heat or A/C on. If you are going to list your property as smoke free, then make sure it actually is.
