Home away from home

Posted 16 Oct 2014
Pros: Location, pool, restaurant, great staff.
Cons: I felt some of room facilities can do with a bit more maintenance. The light in the kitchen was 'cool white' colour - 'warm white' would be better!
Location: There are so many things you can do at the residence (pools, the farm, restaurants)....
We had a fabulous time. It is a perfect place for a family with young children - my one year old had such a great time dipping his toes in the beautiful pool, watching farm animals (he was too scared to go near but was happy to watch them from distance) and just walking around the premise. The food at their restaurant was nice, especially pizzas they do in evenings (I wish they do them for lunch time too). It is a home away from home and a perfect place for peaceful and relaxing holiday. We stayed in Casa dell'uva near the reception. Only small dissapointment was it did not have a bath tub. We will definitely go back and next time we will try a cottage in the Borgo. We did not hire a car this time but it was ok. It was so nice that we ended up staying at the farm almost all our stay (But if you are staying in the Borgo, you need a car as it is on top of the hill and a bit far from the restaurant and the reception where they sell bread and cheese).

Fabulous place for a get away

Posted 16 May 2011
The apartments were new, clean, and well furnished, with beautiful views of the mountains and Alghero. The swimming pools looked appealing but it wasn't quite warm enough to try them. We were amazed and impressed by the farm. They raise pigs, sheep, chickens, and mules and grow olives and vines for olive oil, and wine. The restaurant, Le Pinnette, is an amazing experience, not to be missed. The staff was wonderful, especially Antonella. She was so helpful and brought us eggs from the chickens and a cable so that we could get internet access. The only possible negative is that it is about 20 minutes outside of Alghero, so you have to drive in to town for other restaurants or shopping. However, there is a small grocery store just a few minutes from the farm, which met all of our needs. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. It was a fabulous experience!

Peccato

Overpriced. Hidden Fees.

Posted 31 Mar 2013 on Hotels
Beware this agriturismo charges a flat weekly "cleaning & utilities" fee ON TOP OF the Hotels.com costs. This fee is not prorated, if you stay only one or two nights you will be charged the entire weekly fee, which is extremely high. The website says "It is about coming into contact with those who work, with care and dedication, on the farm, who are ready and willing to talk about themselves and about the area", but we encountered not one single person such as this. The pools were covered and the restaurants closed during our stay, so I cannot comment on these "amenities". In order to check out we had to call reception and wait 40 minutes for someone to arrive. All in all an extremely overpriced place to stay with a "corporate" feel. I would reccommend staying at a smaller, more personal agriturismo rather than here.

Generelt godt

Posted 24 Apr 2011 on Hotels

Nice quiet place in the countryside.

Posted 30 Mar 2011 on Hotels
This is not an ordinary hotel; it’s a collection of apartments on a farm. Not the place if you are looking for nightlife, but if you wants a quiet “home” in Sardinia, it’s perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You will need a car to get around. Sardinia was very pleasant in late March, not crowded and the weather was like summer in Scandinavia
