Can you roll with the punches?

I really tried to like this place, but cannot recommend the gatekeepers house. It doesnt match the price point. Two-way communication was non-existent, got emails directly from them and through hotels.com, but never a response when replying. Oh well, we got in regardless. Hiccup? The place itself is a step up from glamping. The pool is the only redeeming element. It's clean & worked well for our family. Ants? yup, but not sure what they could do about it, your in the middle of a vineyard. Highway noise? check! They cant fix that. There are huge gaps under the doors and windows and have provided a type of 'door sock' to cover the gaps, but they don't even fit the doors. Water pressure is good! One of the bathroom sink faucets jiggles/spins freely because its loose. The kitchen sink literally drained into the front yard the whole time we were there and the dishwasher/clothes washer is connected to this drain as well. Avoided washing clothes here because of that. The dishwasher should be replaced, it's broken/clogged and is a health hazard. Thankfully there are geckos in the rooms, because they probably eat the flys and other insects inside. Wow, this is sounding terrible! You just have to be willing to compromise with this place. But for the money spent, should I have to? There are no screens on the windows. So your unable to leave them open at night without mosquitoes. With no AC, that's hard. Fans were provided, but a loud solution. A positive? people working here are trying!

During extreme heat and in areas where food is present, it is unfortunate that ants and flies can find their way in. We'll continue our efforts to minimize such occurrences. Furthermore, we acknowledge the issues you faced with the bathroom faucet and the kitchen sink draining into the front garden. These were indeed unintended problems with the pipes, which have now been promptly fixed. We have also addressed the problem with the dishwasher. We wish you had informed us of these issues during your stay so we could have addressed them immediately. Regarding the absence of air conditioning, we want to clarify that we do not advertise as having AC and our houses are traditionally constructed with thick walls and small windows with shutters, designed to keep the heat out. However, we understand that different guests have varying preferences, so we provide fans to ensure maximum comfort during your stay. It saddens us to hear about your negative review, especially because our team was in direct contact with you throughout your stay and at check-out. Regrettably, we were not aware of the difficulties you were experiencing at the time, which hindered our ability to address them promptly.
