Love Alvor as well as our stay at Alto Fairways.

Disappointing
Posted 26 Aug 2019 on HotelsAlthough quite expensive, i booked my stay. It's still very disappointing that the TV programmes provided (non-scrambled) were only Portuguese ones. BBC News etc was encrypted! Towels need to be changed every 2/3 days. The rooms need to be cleaned better. The kitchen toaster was reported, but nothing was done. Bed mattresses need to be replaced, otherwise its sleeping with the springs pressing on your back. No WiFi in any area except the reception room! It's 2019! An extension mains cable was not in its trunking but laying on the floor! Access to the pools are between 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. This is not checked by any staff, with parents allowing their children in the pool until 8/8:30 p.m. There is also a small play area for young children, again the time they are allowed to play there is also not checked, children noisily playing until 23:00 hours

gostei de tudo no gerar desde a simplicidade da marcacao do apart do atendimento com as meninas da limpeza ao pessoal da receccao
adorei e com toda a certeza vou voltar
o que nao gostei nao tenho nd a dizer talvez fizesse falta uma maquina de cafe de resto tinha tudo

Nice pool.
Great value for the time of year.
15 minute walk to the beach and about 20-25 mins into the town centre (or a very cheap taxi ride, which are always available).
Alvor itself is a lovely place.

Great Apartments
Posted 13 Apr 2018 on HotelsVery quiet location adjacent to golf course. A little way out of the cetre of Alvor itself....20 mins walk but that suited me. All facilities catered for, very spacious and very clean. I will be using Alto Fairways again in the future.

Potential - but more care required

Pros: Facility itself and location.
Cons: Better equip kitchens. Softer beds (like sleeping on the floor!). In-room WIFI.
Great location, lovely town house style units. Very new, very clean, nicely appointed. However ... kitchen very sparsely equipped and beds are hard as rocks (all woke up with sore backs every morning). Would love to go back, but not with the beds the way they were.
No in-room WIFI. Only in reception area that is only open from 9 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm.
TV did not work - had not been programmed to receive any channels. Staff had very limited facility in English so did not even try to explain that problem.
Reception is supposed to open at 9 am and again at 2 pm after lunch but staff are frequently 15-20 minutes late arriving.

Pros: location near golf course
Cons: the beds very uncomfortable, maybe some water provided as no shops near.
stayed for 11 nights.very quiet. good relaxing holiday car needed could be signposted better as we arrived late at night,
