A Palace of a Hotel

Posted 25 Aug 2019 on Hotels
Best hotel we ever stayed in. Loved it so much we stayed extra 3 nights. All employees amazing. Restaurant wonderful. You can use their bikes to explore this, I believe 45 ha, property and the restaurant will pack you a picknick basket. Pool was clean and very cold water a plus in the Italien heat. The room just beautiful and cozy. After all the tiny showers we've had in Italy this big bathroom and bath tub was a welcome sight. This was a palace. We will go back. It's only a 2 min drive to the Trulli houses in Arberobello and a great place to discover the northern part of Pulia. Highly recommend it.

Hotel with a difference

Posted 19 Jul 2017
The hotel is quite spread out and, initially, it feels slightly odd, but I quickly grew to love it. It is totally in the countryside, yet only 5 mins drive from Alborobello. There is a strong sense of respect for the environment. The pool area is really nice and the food is very good. Hotel staff were brilliant, especially Nicola. My father had unexpected mobility issues and Nicola could not have been more helpful. He helped us contact medical services, hire a wheelchair, and arrange a tour of Alborobello in a golf cart with All ways Puglia! *****

Beautiful stay in the country!

Posted 1 Oct 2014
Really beautiful, nice place to stay. Good, modern rooms. WiFi only available in the main building, but if you know that, OK. Quick ride into Alberobello.

Really in the Country

Posted 30 Sep 2014 on Hotels
Good value, very clean and modern. It was out in the country, so sightseeing involved a trip by car or cab. The car park was a bit far from the room and when we came back after dark, the parking area was not well lit. The restaurant offered a set menu. It looked good and many people were dining. The choices did not appeal to my husband, so we ate in town.

Lovely hotel

Posted 7 Jun 2014
Pros: Quiet rural location, friendly staff, good food, free wi-fi, nice simple but tasteful rooms with modern bathrooms
Cons: The Air con in our room didn't want to work and there was no extra pillows.
Location: Approx 3km outside of Alberobello and good location for visiting other parts of the Puglia
We only stayed one night but we could easily go back and stay for longer - a very quiet and peaceful location, friendly staff and incredible value for money.

Interesting and good quality hotel

Posted 30 Oct 2013
Pros: Position and the staff - the room was very comfortable with a great view.
Cons: Serve hot food on hot plates
Location: Alberobello is wonderful as is Matera but visit Locorotundo and Lecce too.
The Victor Country is a great hotel with friendly and helpful staff in a really great part of Italy. Alborebello was a revelation and we enjoyed our stay - we were there at festival time with a brass band in the town square most nights and fantastic light displays. The only problem with the hotel was the evening meal which was served on cold plates so that, unless you wolf it down, the hot food goes cold before you can finish it. Shame because the food was very good quality though a little expensive. Breakfast was fine, however.
