The property and location is absolutely beautiful. However we were disappointed and frustrated during our check in process with the front desk young lady who couldn't answer most of our basic questions, and at the end gave us totally wrong information about resort operations hours, access, etc. In contrast, the public relations lady (we believe her name was Gulnara) was extremely helpful and went out of her way to help us with Covid test related issues, as well as other things.

Don't waste your money

I'll start by saying that this property is not 5 stars, maybe 4 at best. My major issue was with my room. I had booked a swim up room (at a premium) but only once we got there realised we were given the superior room instead. I asked reception why I had the wrong room and was told there was a problem with the hot tub and we will have our room correct room by 10am the next day. The room was not yet ready and I contacted Hotels.com directly to assist me. Gold Island told Hotels.com that the room was ready and they are waiting for us at reception this was at 12:30. At reception they informed us that the room will only be ready by 3pm.when the room was finally ready at 3:30pm it was very small and did not contain a hot tub as expected, we decided to just go back to the first room as we would rather just try and enjoy our holiday instead of going through any more of this back and forth with the hotel. The staff at reception also promised us a special gift for the honeymoon to apologise for the inconvenience, unfortunately we neever received anything. All in all a very average hotel with a very short entertainment schedule. The only possitive is the service from the entertainment and wait staff. I expect we would have received similar service and quality of food for a third of the price at the other hotels in the area.

The hotel is set on a peninsula which means that there is a lot more space than the other hotels in the bay. We stayed in B Block which we found less busy than A Block. It took us 2 days to realise that there was a separate restaurant and beach in B Block which were much nicer than the main hotel. Food is good and plentiful and there is lots to do on site

the overall experience was excellent more than we expected!! the staff were amazing and very helpful. big thank you for Youssef one of the staff who is really a hard worker with outstanding personality.
