Parking after checkin is not as simple as it could be. The front desk has a small map that they will refer you to but its not that easy to drive around and just park. If staff just slowed down to give a bit more detail (street markers) that would help instead if saying how they arent sure about some streets because of ongoing construction.

Dear Theresa, Thank you for your stay and kind review. We will take your feedback to consideration. Our reception staff are alwaus more than happy to give more details if needed, and even sometime walk outside with the guest to show them better where it is best to park. We hope you had the most amazing time in Iceland and that we will get another chance at welcoming you later!

We liked the hotel and enjoyed our stay. The property is conveniently located to resturants, shopping, and sightseeing activities. Vik is a cute fishing village and perfect for whale watching and grabbing a good, hot meal. The hotel looks like a four-to-five star hotel on the outside and inside, and offers a wonderful breakfast--one of the best in Iceland! The room was amazing. We liked the panoramic windows, beds, bathroom, and TV with Netflix access. Conversely, parking and the room location was not ideal. Parking is very limited near the property and a series of uneven steps leading to the lobby makes it difficult to bring your luggage into the property. This proved difficult for my mobility challenged family member. Also, our room was very difficult to get to. Apparently, the hotel merged with the next building on the block and they were not able to connect the floors together on the same level. We had to go through a maze of elevators and stairwells to get to our room with our luggage. It was very confusing and cumbersome. It would've been a perfect stay had it not been for the room location. Overall, I still recommend this property but wish I could give it five stars.

Dear Laura, Thank you very much for your recent visit and the kind an detailed review! We are very happy to hear that you had a good stay with us. Gotel Kea is an 80 year old hotel with a rich and remarkable history. When first opened we only had 14 rooms, but now we have 104. We can understand that the layour can be confusing at first but our reception staff are always more than happy to assist, both with the luggage and with walking with you to show you to your room.We hope you had the most amazing time in Iceland and you are always welcome back at Hotel Kea.

Dear afshin,Thank you for staying with us and for your kind feedback. Our rooms are not large, and their sizes are listed here online when booking. We recommend a deluxe room for a more spacious feel.It would be our pleasure to welcome you again.

The only concern I had about the facility is that the hotel has no onsite parking. You park on the street for free up till 10 AM. Afther that you have to pay for parking. Something to be award of.

Dear Tina,Thank you for your recent visit and the feedback! We are happy to see you enjoyed your overall stay. The hotel does in fact not have any designated parking, but luckily there are a lot of free parking spaces within 300 meters, where you do not have to worry about paying after 10am. Our reception staff are more than happy to assist with showing where to park for free.We hope you had a great time in Iceland and that you will visit us again the next time you travel to Akureyri!

Enjoyed my stay at Keahotels which was central to a lot of dining & shopping in Akureyri. Really liked the room as well as the offered breakfast, too. My only negative would be that there seemed to be inexplainable banging & knocking around the building, which did make it quite loud, especially into the evening hours.

Extremely noisy, drunks were so loud at the hotel bar and kept us up late into the night, leaving the bar revving their engines like maniacs, worst nights sleep on our entire Iceland trip. Room was decent but shower was extremely small, if you’re a big person you would have difficulty lifting your arms. If you’re looking to party this would be your place but not a place to stay with your 12 yr old.

Dear Terry,Thank you for your feedback, although I am saddened to see that the stay did not meet your expectations. As we are located directly downtown, and there was a festival in town during the time of your stay, it was inevitable to hear some noise from the downtown area.We are sorry to see that it affected your stay so negatively but hope you were still able to partake in some of the many activities going on during the festival. All the best from us in the north.

While the room was small, it was clean and comfortable. Small bathroom.
