Had a great time, food was good, and loved that with the luxury resorts we had access to all four resorts from Bahia Principe, which included dining! However rooms were outdated and AC didn’t work. Everything else we enjoyed!

The infinity pool was amazing. Staffers were polite. We had access to the other properties and restaurants, which was nice, but booking was entirely too difficult, and the Brazilian restaurant was not available a single night of our stay, and this was echoed by many other guest we met. The property needs a lot of updating. I’m not quite sure what was luxury about it in comparison to the other resorts.

We were overcharged at every opportunity from sanitation, to the shows and the spa. Our first room was bad, AC, refrigerator and toilet not working at all, so we had to pay to get a working room (over$500USD).
Some of the staff were very friendly while others should not be in the service industry if they hate people that much.
The reservation requiring restaurants were hit or miss, overall the food was OK. However there is no food at the pools AT ALL. I can understand this is to keep animals away and the pool areas clean, but this also creates a huge problem of the only available food at lunch time running out and having very long lines for what little food is available.
Last the area was very secluded and getting anywhere in a taxi was very expensive. The Hacienda area for shopping was just 30 vendors all selling exactly the same stuff at super inflated price, like over $60usd for a bad pair of shorts (not worth it at all) but it's $50 one way to playa in a taxi to go shopping so they know they can charge you whatever they want.
Overall we will not be returning to this resort or hotel chain. I have stayed at many other resorts and feel food, prices, and hospitality are better elsewhere.
