I loved everything about my stay at the Akita Castle Hotel and was sad to leave. I’d definitely stay there again.

Rainy day in Akita

Reallly large room. Really nice pillows (husk and foam). Short walk to train station.

Restaurants close early and some require reservations. I arrived late the first night and didn’t know that the restaurant was not open to public or guest the second night so I had to eat at 7-Eleven each night. 7-Eleven is on property was a lifesaver.. not many restaurants in the area but hotel was fantastic

Sad experience

Staff did not know English. I had had difficulties in communicating with them at Reception. I was charged 50 per cent extra for 3 hours early chech in. I felt it was unjust enrichment considering that 11 am was check out and 3 pm was check in. I myself checked out at 7 am.

Great hotel is all I can say. It was a wonderful base for my parents and I to explore the city and the surrounding countryside. We loved the elegant Lotus bar.
