I arrived at the hotel at 9:15 pm and no one around. Area was in the country, dark and n9 vehicles around. I called the after hours number and someone got back to me at 10 pm and at this time already got another place to stay. I had to work with the manager at hotels.com to get my money back

Sorry about the poor experience. We completely dropped the ball on our end as we did not see the reservation on our system. Payment is taken at the motel when you arrive so hotels.com should not and does not take payment. Again, we apologize for the mix-up and the inconvenience we caused you.

Only complaint is the horrible noises coming from the walls all night. Maybe it was the water heater or plumbing issues but it made sleeping difficult at best.

We appreciate the review but are unsure what the noises could be. We contacted those in the adjoining rooms who said they didn't hear any noises. We apologize for whatever it could have been but are unaware of any issues.

Booked two nights at the Motel but upon check-in was told that the Motel lost water pressure and was placed into a cabin. The cabin was a great "upgrade" however, we didn't bring towels of toiletries. The girl who checked us in said she would get towels but didn't know what toiletries meant. We went to town to get soap, shampoo and conditioner. She showed up later at the cabin with two towels for 2 nights.

We appreciate the review and are glad you enjoyed the cabin. An unfortunate issue that was quickly resolved but thankfully, a cabin was available. We hope to see you again at the Red Door.

Give the motel a PLUS

Pros: See above
Cons: Just the lamp problem
Location: Did nothing in the area. Stayed there as it was close to a family get together.
Clean, comfortable, quiet room. Only one complaint - neither bedside lamp worked. Reported it Sat morning - returned Sat night and the problem had not bee fixed. Would definitely return for another say!

Nice stay!

We had a great, albeit brief stay. Great, friendly owners, and we loved having the Cafe/bar right there! The lake was beautiful. The hotel room itself was nice - convenient with a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. For some reason, the sheets felt sort of sticky -- I've never experienced that before so not sure why. The most inconvenient thing was that the room was cold and while there was an A/C wall unit (which we didn't need to use), I'm not sure that the thermostat on the wall adjusted the heat like we tried to get it to do. They had left an extra blanket though, so we survived. :) Would definitely stay again!

Things were clean and the only things we had to bring along to our cabin were the towels. They had pots and pans, dishes, cooking utensils, ect. Beds were clean and comfortable. The view was wonderful.
