Buch is part of the municipality Ahorn in the north of Baden Wuerttemberg. Buch am Ahorn was first mentioned in records in 1101 and is located in the centre of the northern Bauland, a landscape of hills known especially as the home of Grünkern (unripe spelt grain) and for numerous cave and tunnel systems. While travelling to Buch am Ahorn, look forward to a cosy spot in the middle of the woods, with an idyllic swimming pool, a children’s playground and a protestant village church. Also located in Buch am Ahorn is the spring of the River Erfa, 25 miles in length and a tributary of the Main River.

Only a few miles to the west of Buch am Ahorn is the Rhaetian Limes Germanicus, the former border of the Holy Roman Empire. In 2005, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors will profit from the proximity of the airports of Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Nuremberg, each only an hour away. The motorway connection means the city can be reached easily by car the exits Ahorn and Boxberg from Motorway A 81 are nearby. Train travellers will also reach Buch am Ahorn on their short trip quite comfortably as the city’s train station is on the line Stuttgart-Würzburg.
