I booked this for my mum during her short stay in Accra and she loved it! The place is not perfect but she says their staff are. Judith and Richard were especially wonderful - going out of their way to order Ubers and even food for her. I would definitely book this place for her again next time she's home.

I had previously stayed in this hotel and the experience has been good; but my most recent experience was honestly awful. I arrived and it seems I wasn't expected and so my room was not ready. The air conditioner wasn't functioning and I had to be moved to a different room of a lower standard, all without a refund. Breakfast was offered only once out of seven days even though included in the price. Cleaning services were not readily available as the trash remained there for days. So many mosquitoes in common areas it was so hard to stay outside for fresh air.

Wonderful experience
Posted 22 Apr 2019 on HotelsMy time at Coconut groove was superb. The entire atmosphere was beautiful and cool. The room was neatly decorated and it so much fun watching live football matches.

Had one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in my life. I wanted a restful night to prepare for my Lagos trip and at 4am I felt very uncomfortable which affected my asthma and the situation woke me up only to realise the electricity was off. I sat on the cold floor hoping the light will come back soon but nothing happened. I went downstairs and I was told they are waiting for a technician.
I was sweating and couldn’t till 9am when I went downstairs to try and get the breakfast I paid for as part of my package and that was not possible because there was no light so I went to Spintex road to get some food then came back to check out.

Nice new hotel. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that it is VERY far from downtown Accra, airport, shopping, etc. It is at the very end of Spintex Road, and the front desk lady did not give accurate instructions how to find it. If you look for a GNC Bank, as told, you will creep along in traffic scanning the roadside for miles, a waste of time and energy. The bank is next to the hotel which is at a T junction at the very end of Spintex, and you cannot see either the bank or the hotel from the road because a huge beer billboard blocks sight of it. We made a guess, took the right turn, and I saw the hotel over my shoulder as we drove away from it. Once we turned around and found it, the staff were helpful, friendly, and efficient. The room was big, comfortable, clean; huge bathroom. There was no place to put my stuff in the bathroom, no shelf by the sink. I put my bags of shampoo and skin products on the floor, The next day staff had moved a small table in and picked up my cosmetics from the floor. Good display of lateral thinking. The room service was fast, the food good. My only complaint is no bedside reading lamps. If you are looking for a well-priced place to stay, and do not care how far you are from the hub of Accra, then give this Coconut Grove a try.
