The bathroom needs total renovation, the bath, toilet seat and wash hand sink were not so clean.

My Most Unpleasant in a Hotel

Posted 30 Sep 2019 on Hotels
I booked this hotel because it is close to the venue of the wedding I came to Abuja for. I arrived the hotel at 5.25pm on 27/09/19 after waiting almost seven hours to board my plane in Lagos. All I wanted to do was to check into my room, have a shower and take a nap. Unfortunately, that did not happen because I was kept at the reception arguing about my booking despite the fact that I showed all my documents. After almost one hour, I was checked in with the condition that I should call Hotel.com for confirmation of my booking. I asked to see the manager. I was ignored. All he did was to keep issuing instructions from his office. Checking out was also an issue. Breakfast was horrible. Room service took forever. Toilet in Rm 305 where I stayed is leaking and screaming for refurbishment. The reception staff were very impolite. The only decent person was the fellow that checked me in who was apologizing all the time. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone and I will not stay there again. Dr. Ify

Hard bed and very old room

Posted 7 Apr 2019 on Hotels
The rooms were very old, the bed was harder than the floor so I didn’t sleep comfortably. The air-con unit was an old style with no way to reduce settings, you either have it on or off (freeze or bake yourself at night). The furniture was broken, balcony door wouldn’t close, the kettle plug doesn’t fit any sockets and not tea amenities were provided in the room anyway, the bathroom is crowded, with sink, tub and toilet almost on top of each other. Breakfast is for 1 person only so 2nd guest has to pay, breakfast is a la carte. Check out wasn’t so smooth as they couldn’t find proof of my payment and wanted to charge me again.

Nice hotel. Very friendly and polite staff. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, hopefully updated facilities will be added, especially in the rooms. The lift though was a constant hassle. This needs some improvement to keep up with the workload. Food was excellent but will like to see improvements in information sharing between the front of house and back of house. The first four days of my stay saw abit of confusion between the restaurant and the front desk about my bed and breakfast that came with my bookings. Quite embarrassing sometimes but all in all, it was a good stay and good experience and will recommend the hotel to anyone who desires not too flamboyant an experience but a comfortable one.

I should have stayed with my usual hotel

Posted 2 Dec 2018 on Hotels
An experience I wish to forget. Noisy renovation works going on. Extremely slow checkin. Unstable water closet, located too close to the wash hand basin, with little room for movement. Had to change room because WiFi was not working, but that didn’t help either. Cramped rooms. Briefly stuck in the lift when light was taken off: very unsettling. Stairway hidden from easy view, a possible fire hazard. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to a friend.
