If you are a picky and particular person, this place is not for you. I’ll start with the great key points of this hotel:
price: cheapest private room and non-shared bathroom in town!
location! Across the street from 7-11, the bus terminal & ice breaking cruise, minutes walk to the waterfront and downtown area.
One staff man was very nice and attentive. Recommended a great restaurant and made reservations for us. Let me borrow a bottle opener for our wine.
clean sheets, towels, warm water, warm room.
Quiet & relaxed! no large groups of loud, pushy tourists (in light of the corona virus scare...) in there.
The cons/room for improvement:
-very smoky smelling. One air purifier would help immensely, but we just went and bought febreez gel from 7-11 for the 2 nights to freshen the room.
-no water pressure on the second floor. It was barely a trickle from the shower. Not even enough to shampoo a mans hair, but enough to rinse my face. You might be able to have patience to fill the tub though; at least it was warm.
-Building & room are in need of some tlc. But at the price it is, I’m happy that it was warm, quiet, private, and had fresh sheets & towels.
I walked around the first floor looking if their was a coin laundry but only saw the man’s one machine and his bath seems to now be storage/laundry. If he could open that up to guests, it looked nicer than our in room shower that had no water pressure.
