Upper Lapland 4 Stars Hotels

"Check in closes at 10.00.p.m. at a major tourist area. The plane with tourists from the capital, Helsinki, does not arrive at the closest airfield until 10.30.p.m. They need to consider this. The afterhours lockbox is situated outside. It was minus 25 Celsius and dark when we arrived. The lockboxes inside need two fingers for the metal buttons on either side. I still have peeling finger skin two weeks later from having to touch them. The lockbox should be situated in an inside lobby - very poor....

"Beautiful igloo with view of Northern Lights all 3 nights we were there (date of stay 11/25-11/28). Amazing sauna. Great restaurant. Plenty of activity options available. I highly recommend this property if you want to immerse yourself in nature while still living in comfort!"

"We loved this property. We stayed for two nights as part of a 10 day trip through Finland. The hotel is perfectly situated for walking 100 metres to the office of Ivalo Safari, who have amazing experiences. We did an aurora borealis trip on a snow mobile and husky dog sled ride. I will be reviewing these separately. The hotel breakfast was really good, with lots of choices and a nice homely restaurant setting. The evening meals were good too. "A basic facility. Rooms are interesting, no doir on bedroom. No curtain on glass wall to bathroom means very little privacy. No.curtain was provided but was able to rig up a curtain to provide some privacy. Couch bed one if the most uncomfortable ever slept on. "

"We saw aurora from the pyramid which is a dream come true. Wonderful location, pyramids are gorgeous, spacious with attached bath and shower. The chef made us a vegetarian options for dinner which we are thankful for. One feedback is the light pollution outside the pyramid, it reflects everywhere and can be a nuisance. "

"The property has everything you need for 2 people, it would be very cramped with anymore than 2 adults and 1 small child, the kitchen is very well equipped. Beds are comfy, it’s warm and clean and the sauna is lovely. What they failed to tell us is that Saturdays is ‘change over day’ which meant we had to move apartments after our first night not giving us even 24 hours in 1 apartment, it caused us to loose a days skiing due to waiting around for a phone call to Inform us that the new apartment...

"Our room was absolutely stunning and the waterworld and kids world are great. It does get a bit noisy when the day trip people come but other than that can't fault the hotel. Really central and always warm!"

"Love the location excellent run property and the suna is outstanding. Extremely helpful front desk staff. The kitchen can be a little more accommodating for allergies. Meals only one choice and small portions "
