"The hotel was great. Modern, clean, staff were keen. What is slightly bizarre is how quiet it is, it's like out was half empty. The only disappointment was the gym. Whilst modern it lacked equipment. Given the vast amount of public space, they are missing a trick here. Breakfast was very good each day. The road leading to the hotel is not great and there's very little public parking but plenty on the road."

"We stayed only one night because we took the ferry from Gran Canaria to visit friends from Germany who were staying at Aldriana. It was a successful visit and we completely enjoyed our first stay at Cactus Garden. We would be happy to stay again. "

"Great food at both dinner and breakfast, the beach is excellent for walking and swimming. There was unfortunately no kettle for hot water in the room and the coffee at breakfast was undrinkable. Instead of Nescafe machines dispensing low-quality 'instant' coffee, the hotel could have provided a large pot of simple filter coffee for guests. "

"The food whilst a challenge to provide for so many people at once was ok but lacked attention. Meat cooked too much. Lack of flavour and the snack bar is just cheap processed food which could be a lot better prepared but as I say a good job for so many "

"Very good resort, excellent location, nice accommodation, amazing dinner but average breakfast(always same things). The resort is very nice and also all the apartments are good. The dinner has a good choice, with the majority of dishes very good and some also excellent, but the breakfast is quite boring, with few things being good, all the pastry is very poor, same for ham, sausages and eggs. "Overall we had a very lovely holiday, however, I won't be rushing back to this hotel. There are a lot of positives, the beach is walkable and very lovely, the staff are friendly, the food that was available was tastey and there was enough to do for the kids. But the building is dated, the bedrooms are very basic. The sinks are very high, the resort is full of kids however, I don't think any kid can wash their hands independently in the bedrooms or communal areas, not even a child friendly step...

"Stayed at R2 Rio Calma in Nov 21. Hotel is OKish, elegant Moorish exterior but rooms would benefit from a makeover. Food was buffet and can only say average. However pools and especially the grounds were really attractive. Hotel is approx a kilometre from main sandy beech. "

The heated pool was however not quite as warm as we hoped; I believe it was set at 24 degrees which when windy (which it often is in Fuerteventura!) isn't particularly warm; it's okay if you keep very active but we got cold splashing around with our child. For comparison, went to another place (in Marrakesh) where the pool was 30 (though that is very warm!). "Amazing place, diversity of food is very good, we were quite happy with quality of food, swimming pools are great, beach is beautiful and quite close to hotel, room service was good, rooms are not spectacular but clean and nice...
