"The shower never worked and there was too much sound (music) during the night and early in the morning. The room we choose had a picture with tv but there was none in the room. We also got food poisoning from our dinner. Javier the guy from the reception was nice and the view was great."

"This hotel is an experience in itself. Nestled in a mangrove, the hotel is built on stilted walkways. There are turtles and crocodiles (sometimes), but apparently they do not bother people. "My wife reserved 3 family rooms , I reserved one a total of 4 rooms and when I did the check in one of my wife's room was not ready and it was past the check in time the room that I additionally reserved was given to another family and It had been charged to my account , the power went out and we had no lights all night no food , no hot water , no wifi customer service was not the best , the rooms were dirty the staff was not helpful, the main reason I'm giving 2 starts is because the natural...

"This is an exceptional, seemingly undiscovered gem. Location is a paradise to itself with great facilities, wonderful staff and activities raging from Kayaking, ziplining, horseback riding, wakeboarding to just sitting back and enjoying the best fruit smoothies ever."

"We went to Puerto Barrios, Guatemala, staying at Marbrissa Hotel, the staff were friendly and very helpful, our room was clean but poorly maintained, the bathroom also. After our first couple of hours we noticed a bad leak on the toilet reservoir connecting to the bowl, the staff put us in another room, all was fine. Again the unit was clean but poorly maintained. "Comfortable lakeside property. Nice restaurant. Ample, secure parking. Large room. Comfortable beds. Good A/C. Doubt flatscreen TV could have been any smaller. Really need to upgrade to 32", at the vrey least."

"This hotel is very close to Rio Dulce. Very nice pool with a small restaurant. The employees are very nice and helpful. The rooms need updating. Decor and tv were very old. If you are just driving through and need a place to relax outside and just sleep, this is the place. If you are looking for modest to luxury stay and amenities, this is not it. Overall, this place is an ok place."

Special stay in the jungle

"This hotel is an experience in itself. Nestled in a mangrove, the hotel is built on stilted walkways. There are turtles and crocodiles (sometimes), but apparently they do not bother people. You can relax at their restaurant or by the pool or choose to participate in activities such as sunrise kayaking to an island with monkeys, a horseback ride, a walk through their farmland, or a day trip to Livingston. The people who work there are friendly and organized. The place is kept very clean and comfortable. I personally like that you can access it by land or boat. Many similar spots are only accessible by boat, which makes me feel too isolated! I would definitely recommend this hotel. "
