The area outside is not as expected, the first floor corridor smells of cigarette as I came out of the lift

There was a street market 2 blocks before the hotel main door. It was impossible to walk on the sidewalk so we had to take the street. 2 of the merchants were fighting, which pushed all people around towards us. Cars passing by nearly hit us.
There was no soap or shampoo in the room, we asked for it and never got it.

This would be a great 3 star hotel, but definitely not a 4 star hotel.
The area is very poor, with lots of homeless people on the streets, and refugees, and people with mental health problems. Lots of graffiti and litter too. It does not reflect well on the local government of Paris more generally.

Photos of the proper are deceiving. The hotel staff was friendly as well as the Kitchen staff on the main floor. The 8th floor bar had limited choices. The glass water container was full of stains and particles. Do not order the onion fritters from the 8th floor. They were overcooked and burnt. The manager refused to recook or substitute the item. The only option was to pay for burnt food. We never received our drink orders and left frustrated, disappointed and likely never to return. There is no where to upload photos. Pictures are worth a thousand words. Customer service and being treated like you matter is important to everyone.

We didn't have shampoo, when we asked them, they still didn't bring it to us.
In my opinion, this is not a four-star hotel.
